These characteristics have made it the most popular industrial production method at present, and it is also a model of modern biomanufacturing.
Microbial "Factory": How Yeast Produces Glutathione
How do these tiny microorganisms transform into highly efficient "factories"?
In the microbial world, Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Candida utilis are the "star employees" for producing glutathione.
Especially Saccharomyces cerevisiae, because of its clear genetic background and well-developed modification tools, it has become the most favored "platform cell" by scientists.
In the early days, scientists mainly increased production by optimizing the "working environment", just like providing better accommodation and meals for workers:
